Juicing Recipes for Weight Loss
Here we will look at juicing to help in weight loss, but if you want to lose faster, take a look at doing a little strength training too. Lean muscles use 35-50 calories/hours/pound while just sitting around. Fat uses just 5. Any fat cells you replace with muscle helps you lose weight and keep it off, and strength training can be as simple and inexpensive as lifting parts of your body or pulling on a resistance band or tube.
Losing weight is more and more difficult as we age. This is primarily because of the natural decline in metabolism which accounts for about three-quarters of the energy we expend daily. Our metabolism slows 10% per decade. Additionally, our biological inheritance from the days when we climbed down from the trees further reduces our metabolic rate any time our bodies think we are on the verge of starvation. In modern terms, that means every time we reduce our food intake to reduce our girth, our body carefully harbors all its stored fat, as it assumes we are undergoing a famine. So to lose weight we need to consume even fewer calories than we usually envision.
It seems like all the good things to eat have lots of calories and all the good-for-you-foods are boring and need to be eaten in huge quantities. Either that or they are tasteless, or both. Our bodies crave food and our minds usually crave sweets. All this makes weight loss seem like a lost cause, right?
Wrong. juicing recipes for weight loss can be just the thing that keeps your calorie count down far enough to actually lose the weight you want to take off. There are three reasons for this:
1. Juice comes from naturally low calorie foods—fruits and vegetables. You get a great deal of taste for minimal calories.
2. Juices can be made of dozens of combinations—you never need to repeat yourself, if you don’t want to. Boring is just not an issue, nor is tasteless.
3. You get to fill your craving for sweets in a concentrated form without concentrating the calories, particularly when you include fruits in the juicing mixture.
So where can you start? It might be simpler than you think. A super mid-afternoon thirst quencher can be made from 2 ingredients. Research has shown that we are often thirsty—even to the edge of dehydrated—in the mid-afternoon, not really hungry. Try 2-3 glasses of water and one of these lovely sweet craving-quenchers.

Best Juicer to Lose Weight and Gain Energy
Here’s a video on one man’s juicing to lose weight and the juicer he uses, an Omega VERT. He compares the VERT favorably to his earlier purchase, a Breville Juice Fountain. See our reviews of Omega VERTs.
If convenient, when I recommend a product or service, I include an affiliate link to it. That means, if someone clicks on the link and makes a purchase, the vendor pays me something out of their advertising budget. I’d be a fool not to. If the product isn’t excellent, I won’t include a link; I probably won’t mention it at all.
